    Sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the solution to the following semi-linear fractional wave equation with the Caputo fractional derivative in time and fractional Laplacian in space variables. \[ \begin{cases} {}^CD_t^{\alpha} u + (- \Delta)^{s} u = f(x,t), & u=u(x,t) (x,t)\in {\mathbb R}^d \times (0,\infty); \\ u(0) = \varphi(x), & x\in {\mathbb R}^d; \\ u_t(0) = \psi(x), & x\in {\mathbb R}^d, \end{cases} \] where \(s\in (0,1)\), \(\alpha\in (1,2]\) and integer \(d > 2s\), \(f\in {\mathcal C}^1({\mathbb R})\). Representations of the classical solution are found, conditions for the existence of a global weak solution of an extended semi-linear integro-differential equation are derived.
