The paper addresses solutions for propagating fronts generated by the well-known Fisher-Kolmogorov-Petrovsky-Piskunov (KPP) equation, which, by itself, is a single-component one-dimensional partial differential equation of the diffusion type, to which a quadratic nonlinear term is added. In the present work, the Fisher-KPP equation additionally includes a linear nonlocal (integral) term, which, in terms of the traditional interpretation of the Fisher-KPP models, accounts for the competition at distance. The equation is solved with a localized initial condition, the objective being to predict the speed of the propagation of the invasion front. In the framework of the local Fisher-KPP equation, a known result is that the front-propagation law is \(2t\) (which corresponds to a constant velocity), with an asymptotic logarithmic correction. The present work reports results of a rigorous asymptotic analysis of a similar problem in the framework of the nonlocal extension of the equation, which is based, in particular, on the use of the Harnack inequality and consideration of a moving Diriclet boundary condition. The result is a power-law correction to the linear front-propagation law, \(~t^{\beta}\), with constant \(\beta\) taking values between \(0\) and \(1\).
