Let \(H=-\Delta+V\) be the Schrödinger operator acting on \(L^2({\mathbb R}^d,{\mathbb C})\) with \(d\) odd larger than 2. Here \(V\) is a bounded real- or complex-valued function vanishing outside the closed ball of center 0 and radius \(a\). Let \(\mathfrak{R}_V\) denote the set of resonances of \(H\), where each element is counted according to its multiplicity. Denote by \(n_V(r)\) the number of resonances of modulus \(\leq r\) counted with multiplicity. The authors assume that \(V\in {\mathfrak{M}}_a\), where \[ {\mathfrak{M}}_a:=\Big\{V\in L^\infty(\overline{\mathbb{B}}_a,{\mathbb C}): \ n_V(r)-c_da^dr^d=o(r^d) \text{ as } r\to\infty\Big\}. \] Here \(c_d\) is the explicit constant appearing in the known upper bound for the number of resonances. Define for \(r>0\) \[ \mu^\mathfrak{R}_{V,r}:=\frac{1}{c_d a^d r^d }\sum_{z\in\mathfrak{R}_V} \delta_{z/r}, \] where \(\delta_{z/r}\) denotes the Dirac mass at the point \(z/r\). It is proved that when \(r\to\infty\), the measure \(\mu^\mathfrak{R}_{V,r}\) converges weakly to an explicit probability distribution on the closed lower unit half-disc of the complex plane. For subclasses of potentials, the rate of convergence is also estimated by distance related to the Kantorovich-Wasserstein distance for measures.
