The \(L_p\) Minkowski problem asks for the existence of a convex body \(K\) with non-empty interior and containing the origin, whose \(L_p\) area measure \(S_{K,p}\) is a given finite Borel measure \(\nu\) on the sphere \(S^{n-1}\). In the paper under review the authors study this question for \(p<1\) and when \(\nu\) is a measure with density with respect to the Hausdorff measure \(\mathcal{H}^{n-1}\): they consider the problem \(dS_{K,p}=fd\mathcal{H}^{n-1}\) on the sphere, where \(f\) is a non-negative Borel function in \(S^{n-1}\), and study particular properties of its solution. More precisely, they prove the following engaging result: If \(K\) (in the above conditions) is a solution of the problem \(dS_{K,p}=fd\mathcal{H}^{n-1}\) on \(S^{n-1}\) for \(n\geq 2\) and \(p<1\), and \(f\) is bounded from above and below by two positive constants, then: \begin{itemize} \item[i)] If either \(n=2,3\) or \(n>3\) and \(p<4-n\), then the boundary \(\partial K\) is \(C^1\). \item[ii)] Let \(X_0\) be the set of the points \(x\in\partial K\) such that the normal cones \(N(K,x)\subset N(K,0)\). If \(\mathcal{H}^{n-1}(X_0)=0\) then \(\partial K\) is \(C^1\). \end{itemize}
