    The well-posedness and large time behaviour are investigated for the chemotaxis-growth system with indirect signal production \begin{align*} \partial_t u & = \mathrm{div}\left( D(u) \nabla u - S(u) \nabla v \right) + \mu (u-u^\gamma) \;\;\text{ in }\; \Omega\times (0,\infty)\,, \\ \partial_t v & = \Delta v - v + w \;\;\text{ in }\; \Omega\times (0,\infty)\,, \\ \partial_t w & = \Delta w - w + u \;\;\text{ in }\; \Omega\times (0,\infty)\,, \end{align*} supplemented with homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions and non-negative initial conditions \((u,v,w)(0)=(u_0,v_0,w_0)\in C(\bar{\Omega}) \times W^{1,\infty}(\Omega;\mathbb{R}^2)\). Here, \(\Omega\) is a smooth bounded domain of \(\mathbb{R}^n\), \(n\ge 1\), \(\mu>0\), \(\gamma>1\), and there are \(\alpha\in\mathbb{R}\), \(\beta\le \gamma-1\), \(K_0>0\), and \(K_1>0\) such that \[ D(z) \ge K_0 (1+z)^\alpha\,, \quad |S(z)| \le K_1 (1+z)^{\beta-1} z\,, \qquad z\ge 0\,. \] Owing to the assumptions \(\mu>0\), \(\gamma>1\) and \(\beta\le \gamma-1\), global existence and uniqueness of a non-negative classical solution \((u,v,w)\) are established. Assuming further that \(\mu\) is large enough, it is shown that \((u,v,w)(t)\) converges to \((1,1,1)\) as \(t\to\infty\) at an exponential temporal rate in \(L^\infty(\Omega;\mathbb{R}^3)\). Such results are already known for simpler models and the proofs provided here follow the same arguments.
