In this interesting paper, the author considers variational solutions to the Cauchy-Dirichlet problem \[ \partial_t u = \operatorname{div} D_{\xi}f(x, u, Du)-D_u f(x, u, Du) \] where the function \(f = f (x, u, \xi)\) is convex with respect to \((u, \xi)\) and coercive in \(\xi\) but it not necessarily satisfies a growth condition from above. The elliptic counterpart of equations of this type are largely studied and a large literature in the calculus of variations is devoted to the minimization of \(p, q\)-growth problems and to double phase problems. Here the author applies recent techniques and ideas introduced by Bögelein, Duzaar and Marcellini (see references [8-13] from the paper).
