Some results on the Schur multipliers of nilpotent Lie algebra (Q2312850)

Let $L$ be a nilpotent Lie algebra of dimension $n$ with the dimension of the derived algebra being $m$. There are a number of results bounding the dimension of the Schur multiplier, $M(L)$, of $L$. In particular, it is known that $\dim(M(L))\leq 1/2(n+m-2)(n-m-1)+1$. Here the authors improve this by showing that $t(m-1)$ can be subtracted from the right hand side where $t=\dim(Z(L)/(Z(L)\cap L^2))$ when $L$ is non-abelian.
