The authors study second order Moreau sweeping processes in a separable Hilbert space. The sets in the process are assumed to be equi-uniformly subsmooth and ball-compact, and can depend on both time and state. Subsmoothness of a set was introduced in [\textit{D. Aussel} et al., Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 357, No. 4, 1275--1301 (2005; Zbl 1094.49016)]. In Section 3.1, an existence result involving a singled-valued Carathéodory perturbation is proven and another one is proven for a problem with perturbations that are convex- and weakly-compact valued and separately scalarly uppersemicontinuous. In section 3.2, existence of a continuous and bounded variation solution is proven for similar problems in which the process has continuous bounded variation in time. Discretization is used to solve the problems. The article contains a detailed review of the literature, describes connections between their results and known results, and presents a number of directions for future work in this area.
