This paper is concerned with the location of zeros of the canonical basis elements of the space of weakly holomorphic modular forms for the group \(\Gamma_0(2)\), and their algebraicity or transcendence. The paper gives a complete answer to the algebraicity and transcendence of their zeros. The main result is formulated as follows: Let \(f_k\) denote a canonical basis element for the space of weakly holomorphic modular forms for \(\Gamma_0(2)\) of weight \(k\). Let \(z_0\) be its zero. Then if \(z_0\) is algebraic, then \(z_0\) has one of the following values \(i/\sqrt{2}, (-1+i)/2, (1+i)/2,\) \((-1+i\sqrt{7})/2, (1+i\sqrt{7})/2\},\) or \(z_0\) is transcendental.
