A family of \(p\)-adic Galois representation parametrized by an affinoid domain \(\mathrm{Sp}(R)\) over \(\mathbb{Q}_{p}\) is given by a finite free \(R\)-module \(M\) with an \(R\)-linear continuous action of \(G=\mathrm{Gal}(\overline{\mathbb{Q}}_{p}/\mathbb{Q}_{p})\). Let \(B\) be a period ring considered by Fontaine. One should like to consider the ``module of \(B\)-periods'' \(D_B(M)=(B\widehat{\otimes}_{\mathbb{Q}_p}M)^{G}\) of \(M\), as well as the module of ``higher \(B\)-periods'' \(\mathrm{H}^{i}(G,B\widehat{\otimes}_{\mathbb{Q}_p}M)\). For each point \(x\) of \(\mathrm{Sp}(R)\) the fiber of \(M\) at \(x\) gives rise to a usual \(p\)-adic representation \(M(x)\). The article under review uses the properties of the periods of the various specializations \(M \mapsto M(x)\) of \(M\) to study the corresponding properties of \(M\). Regarding Hodge-Tate or bounded de~Rham periods, the author shows that if for sufficiently many points of \(\mathrm{Sp}(R)\) (in a sense made precise by the author), the specializations \(M(x)\) have constant number of de~Rham or bounded Hodge-Tate periods (and have some other properties on their Hodge-Tate--Sen weights), then \(D_B(M)\) is a finite free \(R\)-module after a suitable localization. Introducing a notion called ``de~Rham datum'', the author proves results about representations \(M\) parametrized by a not necessarily affinoid rigid analytic spaces. For example, the author shows that one can partition the rigid analytic space into disjoint unions of locally closed subspaces such that under specializations the de~Rham datum goes up; and such that on each stratum, the a specific module of bounded de~Rham periods of \(M\) is locally free. Finally, the author shows that when \(i \geq 2\), \(\mathrm{H}^{i}(G,B\widehat{\otimes}_{\mathbb{Q}_p}M)=0\) for \(B=B_{\mathrm{dR}}\) or \(B=B_{\mathrm{HT}}\). This is proved through verifying a comment of Sen (``Presumably higher cohomology (of \(\mathrm{Ker}(G\to\Gamma)\)) vanishes too, but we do not need that.'') made in [\textit{S. Sen}, Ann. Math. (2) 127, No. 3, 647--661 (1988; Zbl 0662.12018)].
