The authors extend previous constructions of orbifold cohomology for complex manifolds, equivariant algebraic \(K\)-theory and equivariant Chow groups for smooth projective varieties with a linear action by a linear algebraic group \(G\). There are many ways in which this is generalized: first the products are extended to all degrees in both cases to obtain suitable orbifold products, next, the constructions are extended to the case of orbifold theories, both equivariant algebraic \(K\)-theory and higher Chow groups. They also construct an equivariant orbifold higher Chern character map: \(\mathfrak{ch}:K_{*}^{G}(I_{G}(X)) \to \mathrm{CH}_{G}^*(I_{G}(X),\bullet)\) which is an isomorphism upon completion by the augmentation ideal of the representation ring of \(G\), on the left hand side, here \(I_{G}(X)\) denotes the inertia variety and the action is assumed to be by a linear algebraic group. They also prove a special case of the \textit{Hyper-Kähler resolution conjecture}.
