The author studies the following version \[ u_t=\Delta u-\chi\nabla\cdot(u\nabla v)+\kappa u-\mu u^2, \quad \Delta v-m(t)+u=0 \] (with \(m(t)=\frac{1}{|B|}\int_B u(x,t)\,dx\)) of the classical Keller-Segel model with the logistic degradation term \(\kappa u-\mu u^2\) in the radially symmetric setting, i.e., in the ball \(B\) in \(\mathbb R^n\). The main result is that, for parameters \(\mu>\chi\), the dissipative term \(-\mu u^2\) is sufficiently strong in order to regularize initial data possessing singularities at the origin like \(u_0(x)\le K\exp(\lambda|x|^{-\alpha})\) with \(\alpha< n\) but satisfying the \(\log\)-integrability condition \(\int_B \log u_0(x)\,dx<\infty\). The analysis is done through delicate comparison arguments together with local compactness results in some rough spaces.
