    The author obtains Schoen-Simons-Yau and Ecker-Huisken type estimates for minimal surfaces in Euclidean space of codimension larger than or equal to \(2\). The main results in the paper are: Theorem 1.6. Let \(S\subset\mathbb R^{m+n}\), \(m\geq 2\), be a graph given by \(f^1,\dots, f^m\). Suppose that \(D_{2R}(x)\subset\subset S\). If one of the following conditions is satisfied {\parindent=7mm \begin{itemize}\item[(1)] \(2\leq n\leq 6\) and the image of the Gauss map is contained in an open geodesic ball of radius \({\sqrt{2}\over 4}\pi\), or \item[(2)] \(2\leq n\leq 5\) and \[ \Delta_f=\left[\det\left(\delta_{ij}+\sum_\alpha {\partial f^\alpha\over {\partial x^i}} {\partial f^\alpha\over {\partial x^j}}\right)\right]<2. \] \end{itemize}} Then, \[ \sup_{D_R(x)} |B|^2\leq {C\over R^2}, \] where the constant \(C\) depends on \(n\), \(m\), \(\sup_{D_{2R}(x)}|H|\), \(R^2\sup_{D_{2R}(x)} (|\nabla H|+\lambda_1)\) and \(R^3\sup_{D_{2R}(x)}\lambda_2\). Theorem 1.7. Let \(S\subset\mathbb R^{m+n}\), \(m\geq 2\), be a graph given by \(f^1,\dots, f^m\). Suppose that \(D_{2R}(x)\subset\subset S\). If the image of the Gauss map is contained in an open geodesic ball of radius \({\sqrt{2}\over 4}\pi\), then \[ \sup_{D_R(x)} |B|^2\leq CR^{-a}\sup_{D_{2R(x)}}\left({\sqrt{2}\over 4}\pi-\rho\circ\gamma\right)^{-2}. \] If \[ \Delta_f=\left[\det\left(\delta_{ij}+\sum_\alpha {\partial f^\alpha\over {\partial x^i}} {\partial f^\alpha\over {\partial x^j}}\right)\right]<2, \] then \[ \sup_{D_R(x)} |B|^2\leq C R^{-a}\sup_{D_{2R}(x)} (2-\Delta_f)^{-\left({3\over 2}+{1\over s}\right)}, \qquad s=\min(m,n), \] where the constant \(C\) depends on \(n\), \(m\), \(\sup_{D_{2R}(x)}|H|\), \(R^2\sup_{D_{2R}(x)} (|\nabla H|+\mu_1)\) and \(R^3\sup_{D_{2R}(x)}\lambda_2\). In the above formulae, \(a\) is any constant in the interval \((1-{1\over n},1)\). As stated by the author, several Bernstein type results, stated as Theorems 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 in the introduction, follow from the estimates. In \S~2 of the paper a Bochner-Simons type inequality is derived for general submanifolds of the Euclidean space of codimension larger than or equal to~2.
