Let \(K\) be a compact subset of the \(n\)-dimensional Euclidean space \(\mathbb{R}^n\) which is star-shaped with respect to the origin. Denote the surface of the unit ball centered at the origin by \(S^{n-1}\). The radial function \(\rho(K,\cdot):S^{n-1}\to \mathbb{R}\) of \(K\) is defined for unit vectors \(u\in S^{n-1}\) by \[ \rho(K,u)=\max\{\lambda\geq 0\,:\,\lambda u\in K\}. \] If \(\rho(K,\cdot)\) is positive and continuous, \(K\) will be called a star body. Let \(K_1,\dots,K_n\) be star bodies in \(\mathbb{R}^n\), their dual mixed volume \(\widetilde{V}(K_1,\dots,K_n)\) is defined by \[ \widetilde{V}(K_1,\dots,K_n)=\frac{1}{n}\int_{S^{n-1}}\rho(K_1,u)\dots\rho(K_n,u) dS(u) \] where \(dS\) signifies the area element of the \(n-1\) unit sphere (see [\textit{E. Lutwak}, Pac. J. Math. 58, 531--538 (1975; Zbl 0273.52007)]). The main result of the paper is the following dual Aleksandrov-Fenchel inequality for dual mixed volume differences. Suppose that \(D_i\subseteq K_i\,(1,\dots,n)\) are star bodies in \(\mathbb{R}^n\), and that the \(K_j\,(j=1,\dots,r, 0\leq r\leq n)\) are dilated copies of each other. Then \[ \left(\widetilde{V}(K_1,\dots,K_n)-\widetilde{V}(D_1,\dots,D_n)\right)^r\geq \] \[ \prod\limits_{j=1}^r\left(\widetilde{V}(\underbrace{K_j,\dots,K_j}_r,K_{r+1},\dots,K_n)-\widetilde{V}(\underbrace{D_j,\dots,D_j}_r,D_{r+1},\dots,D_n)\right) \] with equality if and only if \(D_1,\dots D_r (0\leq r\leq n)\) are all dilatations of each other and \((K_1,\dots K_r)=\mu(D_1,\dots D_r) (0\leq r\leq n)\), where \(\mu\) is a constant. From this some results (among others the dual Minkowski inequality for volume differences) of \textit{S. Lv} [Geom. Dedicata 145, 169--180 (2010; Zbl 1202.52008)] can be deduced.
