Let \(n\in{\mathbb N}\) and \(k\in\{1,\dots,n-1\}\), and let \(D,L\) be star bodies in \({\mathbb R}^n\). The body \(D\) is said to be the \(k\)-intersection body of \(L\) if \(\text{ vol}_k(D\cap H^{\perp})=\text{ vol}_{n-k}(L\cap H)\) holds for every \((n-k)\)-dimensional subspace \(H\) of \({\mathbb R}^n\). Taking the closure in the radial metric of the set of \(k\)-intersection bodies of star bodies, one obtains the class of \(k\)-intersection bodies. The following is the main result of this paper. For \(0<q<1\), to every symmetric convex \(k\)-intersection body \(D\) in \({\mathbb R}^n\) there exists an \(n\)-dimensional subspace of \(L_q([0,1])\) whose unit ball \(L\) satisfies \(L\subset D\subset cL\), where the constant \(c\) depends only on \(k\) and \(q\).
