The paper under review is concerned with the invertibility of certain elements in pseudodifferential calculi on manifolds with boundaries. The main result is the spectral invariance in the \(L^p\)-setting for the algebra developed in [the second author and \textit{B.-W. Schulze}, in: Boundary value problems, Schrödinger operators, deformation quantization. Berlin: Akademie Verlag. 70--205 (1995; Zbl 0847.35156)]. From this, \(L^p\)-spectral invariances of related calculi follow. As an application, the Dirichlet Laplacian \(\Delta_{\mathrm{Dir}}\) is considered on a two-dimensional manifold with conical singularities, and the invertibility of \(\lambda-\Delta_{\mathrm{Dir}}\) as an unbounded operator in the cone Sobolev space (here \(\lambda\in \mathbb C\setminus (-\infty,0]\)) is studied.
