Let \(D\) be a finite dimensional central division algebra. Assume that \(D\) has a valuation such that \(D\) splits by an unramified extension of its center, and that \(D\) contains a maximal subfield which is Galois over \(Z(D)\). It is shown that the latter condition carries over to the residue division algebra of \(D\).
