As is known, each Toeplitz operator with vertical symbol, i.e., with symbol \(a(z) = a(\mathrm{Im}\, z)\) that depends on the imaginary part of \(z\) only, and acting on the weighted Bergman space over the upper half-plane is unitary equivalent to the multiplication operator by its ``spectral'' function \[ \gamma_{a,\lambda}(x) = \frac{x^{\lambda+1}}{\Gamma(\lambda+1)}\int_0^{\infty} a(v/2) v^{\lambda}e^{-xv}\,dv, \quad x \in \mathbb{R}_+. \] The authors describe the \(C^*\)-algebra generated by all such spectral functions \(\gamma_{a,\lambda}\) for bounded measurable \(a\). Extending the results by \textit{C. Herrera Yañez} et al. [Integral Equations Oper. Theory 77, No. 2, 149--166 (2013; Zbl 1293.47029)] they show that this \(C^*\)-algebra actually does not depend on the weight parameter \(\lambda\) and is isomorphic and isometric to the algebra VSO\((\mathbb{R}_+)\) of \textit{very slowly oscillating functions}, i.e., the bounded functions on \(\mathbb{R}_+\) that are uniformly continuous with respect to the logarithmic distance \(\rho(x,y) = |\log x - \log y|\). The authors show as well that the set of all above spectral functions \(\gamma_{a,\lambda}\) is dense in the algebra VSO\((\mathbb{R}_+)\).
