Let \(M\) be a compact Riemann surface of genus \({\rho\geq 2}\) and let \(\omega\) be a holomorphic 1-form on \(M.\) Let \(h^{+}_t\) and \(h^{-}_t\) be the vertical and horizontal flow on \(M\) preserving the area form \({i(\omega\wedge\overline{\omega})/2}.\) The key object of the paper is the \(\rho\)-dimensional space of Hölder cocycles over the flow \(h^{+}_t\) and invariant under the holonomy by the flow \(h^{-}_t.\) Also such cocycles can equivalently be thought as finitely-additive Hölder measures defined on vertical arcs and invariant under horizontal flow. The main approximation theorem, which extends the results due to \textit{A. Zorich} [Ergodic Theory Dyn. Syst. 17, No. 6, 1477--1499 (1997; Zbl 0958.37002)] and \textit{G. Forni} [Ann. Math. (2) 155, No. 1, 1--103 (2002; Zbl 1034.37003)], states that the ergodic integral of a weakly Lipschitz function under flow \(h^{+}_t\) can be uniformly approximated by some cocycle up to an error growing slower than any power of time. The author also remarks that the results of this paper are particular cases of general theorems on the asymptotic behaviour of ergodic averages of symbolic flows along asymptotic foliations of random Markov compacta. The connections between the moduli space of abelian differentials and the space of Markov compacta are described in a comparison table.
