The author considers one-dimensional quantum Ising spin-1/2 chains with two-valued nearest neighbor couplings organized in a quasi-periodic sequence, with uniform, transverse magnetic field. Numerical and analytic results suggest a Cantor structure for the energy spectrum, with non-uniform local scaling. The core of the paper is to show the multifractality of the energy spectrum and to investigate its fractal dimension, by carrying out a renormalization procedure which involves the quasi-periodicity of the sequence of interaction couplings.
