In the preprint [`Bicrossproducts of multiplier Hopf algebras', Preprint Univ. Hasselt, Belgium (2006)] \textit{L. Delvaux} and the authors introduced the notion of bicrossproduct multiplier Hopf algebra. Let \(M=GH\) be an exact factorization of the (infinite) group \(M\). In the paper under review the authors compute the Drinfel'd double of the bicrossproduct multiplier Hopf algebra \(k[G]\#k(H)\) associated to this factorization. It is also shown that there is a basis preserving self-duality structure for this multiplier Hopf algebra if there is a factor reversing group isomorphism. These results generalize results for Hopf algebras arising from factorizations of finite groups in the papers [J. Algebra 181, No. 1, 112-151 (1996; Zbl 0856.17007)] by \textit{E. J. Beggs, J. D. Gould} and \textit{S. Majid}, and [J. Algebra 219, No. 2, 682-727 (1999; Zbl 0942.16035)] by \textit{E. Beggs} and \textit{S. Majid}.
