The Anti-de-Sitter Space/Conformal Field Theory correspondence, discovered by Maldacena in 1997, states that there is an equivalence between string theory on AdS and a conformal quantum field theory on the boundary. Soon thereafter it has been generalized. It stimulated research in many directions, one being the algebraic holography of Rehren. The present article discusses the mathematical status of the non-algebraic version of this correspondence by means of functional integrals commonly used in Euclidean quantum field theory. After a short introduction the authors define propagators on the upper half of the hyperbolic space equipped with an Riemannian metric and then try to give meaning to related functional integrals. Definite results are obtained for polynomial interaction. Reflection positivity and conformal invariance are guaranteed under certain assumptions. However, many questions concerning an arising infra-red problem and uniqueness of the solution are left to future work.
