      The author investigates the system of integral equations \[ Y(x)=\int_0^{\infty}K_1(x-t)Y(t)\,dt+ \int_0^{\infty}K_2(x+t)Y(t)\,dt +U(x), \quad x\geq 0, \] with matrix kernels under assumptions \[ e^{s| x| }K_1(x)\in L(-\infty, \infty), \quad e^{s x}K_2(x)\in L(0, \infty), \quad e^{-s x}U(x)\in L(0, \infty), \quad s\geq 0 , \] and \(D(p)=\det (I-K(p))\neq 0\) on the lines \(\text{Re}\;p=\pm s,\) where \[ K(p) = \int_{-\infty}^{\infty} e^{-px}K_1(x)\,dx. \] In particular she proves that any solution has the form \(Y(x)= V_1(x) + V_2(x) \) with the \(V_1(x) =\sum_n P_n(x)e^{p_n x}\) where \(P_n(x)\) are polynomials, \(p_n\) are zeros of \(D(p)\) and \(V_2(x)\) solves the equation \[ V_2(x)=\int_0^\infty (K_1(x-t) + K_2(x+t))V_2(t)\,dt+U_1(x) \] with a certain function \(U_1\). The author discusses some physical problems where such systems arise.
