The authors consider \(\tau_w\)-continuous homomorphisms \(T\) between algebras \({\mathcal H}(K)\) of holomorphic germs defined on compact subsets \(K\) of a Banach space \(E,\) where \(\tau_w\) is the Nachbin ported topology. They find conditions on \(E\) such that every such homomorphism is a composition operator, that is, there is a holomorphic mapping \(\phi\) such that \(T([f])=[f\circ \phi],\) \([f]\) being the germ of the function \(f.\) This is the case indeed if \(E\) is reflexive and the finite type polynomials on \(E\) are dense in the space of all continuous polynomials for the topology of uniform convergence on bounded subsets. Further, a description of those homomorphisms \(T\) mapping bounded sets into (weakly) relatively compact sets is provided.
