Systems of interval linear equations of the form \([x]=[A][x]+[b]\) are considered. It is a well-known fact that such a system has a unique interval solution \([x]\) if \(\varrho(| [A]| )<1\) holds. The authors give a necessary and sufficient condition for existence of a solution of \([x]=[A][x]+[b]\) provided \(\varrho(| [A]| )\geq 1\) and \(| [A]| \) is in a reducible normal form.
