One of the main theorems obtained in this paper is that the image of a unital \(C^*\)-algebra \(A\) under a bounded unital homomorphism into \(B(W)\) is approximately reflexive, where \(B(W)\) is the algebra of all bounded operators on a Banach space \(W\). The case where \(A\) is commutative was considered by \textit{D.\,Hadwin} and \textit{M.\,Orhon} [J.~Funct.\ Anal.\ 87, No.\,2, 348--358 (1989; Zbl 0716.47026)]. A key step for the main result of the present paper is to show that a \(C^*\)-algebra with zero the only limit point of the spectrum of its self-adjoint elements is isomorphic to a direct sum of elementary \(C^*\)-algebras. Note that a linear subspace \(S\) of \(B(W)\) is approximately reflexive if \(\text{Ref}_E(S) =S\), where \(E\) is the weak\(^*\) closure of the set \(\{x \otimes \alpha : x\in W, \alpha\in W^* \} \subset B(W)^*\), where \(W^*\), \(B(W)^*\) are the normed duals of \(W\), \(B(W)\), respectively, \((x\otimes \alpha ) (T)= \alpha (Tx)\) for \(T\in B(W)\), and \(\text{Ref}_E(S)\) is the intersection of the kernels of functionals in \(S^{\perp} \cap E\), where \(S^{\perp} = \{ \varphi \in B(W)^* : \varphi (S)=0\}\). Furthermore, a few results in the general setting for reflexivity are obtained in the paper under review. Finally, a new version of algebraic reflexivity is introduced.
