Periodicity in \(K\)-groups of certain fields (Q2568688)

The main results of the paper concern periodicity for \(p^{\nu}\)-torsion of the odd \(K\)-theory of a field \(k\) and \(p^{\nu}\)-cotorsion of the even \(K\)-theory of \(k.\) Here \(k\) is a field of characteristic different than \(p\) and of \(p\)-cohomological dimension less than three. It should be mentioned that a similar periodicity result was obtained by \textit{M. Kolster} [Prog. Math. 116, 37-62 (1994; Zbl 1043.19500)]. Theorem 2.3 in this latter paper is proved for étale \(K\)-theory not algebraic \(K\)-theory, but because the author of the paper under review assumes the Bloch--Kato conjecture this difference is insignificant. Section 1 contains short review of motivic cohomology and \(K\)-theory. In section 2 the periodicity results are proved. In section 3 the author points out some descent and codescent properties. This is done by means of the Hochschils--Serre spectral sequence.
