Complements of tori and Klein bottles in the 4-sphere that have hyperbolic structure (Q2571374)

The authors construct various examples of non-compact hyperbolic 4-manifolds. These examples are all topological complements of tori and Klein bottles in the 4-sphere. Finite covers of some of these are shown to be complements of tori and Klein bottles in other simply-connected closed 4-manifolds. In particular, all examples arise from the constructions obtained previously by Ratcliffe and Tschantz of 1171 non-compact hyperbolic 4-manifolds of minimal volume.
