      Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be vector spaces. The authors prove that an odd mapping \(f : X\to Y\) satisfying the functional equation \[ \begin{multlined} rf\left(\frac{\sum_{j=1}^d x_j}{r}\right)+\sum_{l(j)=0,1; \sum_{j=1}^d l(j)=l} rf\left( \frac{\sum_{j=1}^d(-1)^{l(j)}x_j}{r}\right)\\ =\left({}_{d-1}C_l-{}_{d-1}C_{l-1}+1\right) \sum_{j=1}^d f(x_j)\end{multlined}\tag{1} \] then the odd mapping \(f : X\to Y\) is additive. They also prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of the functional equation (1) in Banach modules over a unital C*-algebra. Let \(\mathcal A\) and \(\mathcal B\) be unital C*-algebras, Poisson C*-algebras or Poisson JC*-algebras. As an application, the authors prove that every almost linear bijection \(h : \mathcal A \to\mathcal B\) of \(\mathcal A\) into \(\mathcal B\) is a C*- algebra isomorphism when \(h(\frac{2^n}{r^n}uy) = h(\frac{2^n}{r^n}u)h(y)\) for all unitaries \(u\in\mathcal A\), all \(y\in\mathcal A\), and \(n = 0,1,2,\dots\).
