In 1869, \textit{G. Cantor} [Schlömilch Z. XIV, 121--128 (1869; JFM 02.0085.01)] introduced the following number expansion: given a sequence \(Q=\{q_n\}\), \(n=1,2,\dots\), of integers, with \(q_n\geq 2\), then the expansion of a real number \(x\in[0,1]\) as a series of fractions \(x_n/(q_1\cdot\dots\cdot q_n)\), where \(x_n\in\{0,1,\dots,q_n-1\}\) is known as a \(Q\)-Cantor expansion of \(x\) (see the paper above). The authors deal with the convergence of the digits occurring in a \(Q\)-Cantor expansion and with the dimensional property of a certain set of numbers in \([0,1]\).
