This article deals with nonspecial subsets of \(\mathbb{F}_q\)-rational divisors. The main result of this article is to give an upper bound on the size of a nonspecial subset of \(\mathbb{F}_q\)-rational divisors with respect to the genus of the function field. The bounds are proven with a geometric technique. The existence of certain maximal nonspecial subsets imply there exists certain \(k\)-arcs in a projective space, which then bounds the number of elements in a maximal nonspecial subspets
