The author considers the one-species Vlasov-Maxwell-Boltzmann (VMB) system of the form \[ \partial_tf+\xi\cdot\nabla_xf+(E+\xi\times B )\cdot\nabla_\xi f =Q(f,f) \] with initial conditions \(f(0,x,\xi)=f(x,\xi)\), where \(f\geq 0\) stands for the number density of the particle at time \(t\geq 0,\) position \(x\in \mathbb R^3\) and velocity \(\xi\in \mathbb R^3.\) The self-consistent electromagnetic field \([E(t,x),B(t,x)]\) is coupled with \(f(t,x,\xi)\) through the Maxwell system \[ \partial_tE-\nabla_x\times B=\int_{\mathbb R^3}\xi fd\xi, \] \[ \partial_tB+\nabla_x\times E=0, \] with constraints \[ \nabla_x\cdot B=0,\;\;\;\;\;\nabla_x\cdot E =\int_{R^3}fd\xi-\rho(x), \] with initial conditions \(E(0,x)=E_0(x)\), \(B(0,x)=B_0(x),\) where \(\rho(x)\) is the background density, the Boltzmann collision operator with hard-sphere interactions \[ Q(f,f)=\int_{\mathbb R^3\times S^2}\mid(\xi-\xi_*)\cdot\omega\mid(f(\xi')f(\xi'_*)-)f(\xi)f(\xi_*)d\xi_*d\omega, \] where \[ \xi'=\xi-[(\xi-\xi_*)\cdot\omega]\omega, \;\;\;\xi'_*=\xi_*+[(\xi-\xi_*)\cdot\omega]\omega \] are the post-collisional velocities of the two particles which collide with velocities \(\xi\) and \(\xi_*\), respectively and \(\omega\in S^2=\{\omega\in S^2:(\xi-\xi_*)\cdot\omega\geq 0\}\). In this work, the author deals with the energy estimates of the one-species (VMB) system when the background density is a small perturbation from the stationary state. Then, it handles the dissipation rate for the linearized one-species (VMB) system with the background density having a small perturbation around the stationary state.
