Functional covering numbers (Q2659027)

The authors introduce and study covering numbers and separation numbers for non-negative functions on \(\mathbb{R}^n\), this way generalizing the classical problems of covering a first convex body by few translates of a second body or of packing many translates of the second body into the first one. Their results concern duality between covering and packing, volume inequalities, bounds in the spirit of Hadwiger's covering conjecture and functional \(M\)-position for geometric log-concave functions.
