A quasitoric orbifold is an even dimensional effective orbifold with a half dimensional locally standard torus action. The orbit space of the action is assumed to be a simple polytope. A blowup of an orbifold along a suborbifold replaces the suborbifold by the projectivization of its normal bundle, a process which then yields a new orbifold. In this paper, the authors are interested in the blowups of quasitoric orbifolds along certain closed invariant suborbifolds. They show that for these blowups no new torsion arises in the integral cohomologies. Assume the cohomology of a quasitoric orbifold has no \(p\)-torsion. The authors show that in this case there is no \(p\)-torsion in the cohomology of the blowup along a fixed point. A quasitoric orbifold is called even, if its cohomology is concentrated in even degrees and has no torsion. In particular, even quasitoric orbifolds are integrally equivariantly formal spaces. Using blowups, the authors are able to construct infinitely many integrally equivariantly formal quasitoric orbifolds from a given one.
