Motivated by the classical Hartos triangle, a well-known singular and pathological domain in complex analysis, in this work the authors set the framework for the study of Hardy spaces for a class of singular domains. An independent and different construction of a Hardy space for the Hartogs triangle was proposed also by the reviewer [``Holomorphic function spaces on the Hartogs triangle'', Math. Nachr. 294, No. 11, 2209--2231 (2021), \url{doi:10.1002/mana.201900477}]. We cannot describe the full construction here. In short, the authors show how the Hardy space structure of a domain \(\Omega\subseteq \mathbb C^b\) is inherited by domains that are obtained from \(\Omega\) by removing analytic hypersurfaces. To any hypersurface-deleted domain is actually associated not a single Hardy space, but a filtration of spaces. This is due to the fact that the functions in these new spaces can be singular along the deleted hypersurface and to capture all order of singularities a single Hardy space is not sufficient. Such a filtration of spaces may or may not stabilize depending on the choice of the initial measure on the deleted hypersurface. The authors provide explicit examples of this stabilizing phenomenon (egg domains, generalized Hartogs triangles).
