After \textit{L. Boutet de Monvel}'s work [Acta Math. 126, 11--51 (1971; Zbl 0206.39401)] in which the algebra of operators \[ \mathcal{A}= \begin{pmatrix} A_++G&K\\ T&Q \end{pmatrix} \] was constructed and studied in \(H^s\)-spaces, B.-W. Schulze has introduced so called edge algebras. As the author says ``in his approach, manifolds with boundary can be interpreted as a special case of a manifold with edge. The resulting calculus, called edge algebra, consists of block-matrix operators similar to \(\mathcal{A}\)''. Inside this formalism the author considers singular Green operators (\(A_+\equiv 0\)) and develops a certain calculus for such operators including operators with a parameter in appropriate Sobolev spaces. Certain mapping properties for such operators are also discussed.
