The Hartogs triangle in \(\mathbb{C}^{2}\) is an important example in several complex variables. It is not Lipschitz; this fact complicates its function theory considerably. The paper under review studies the Cauchy-Riemann operator on this domain. The authors first show that the Hartogs triangle is a so called uniform domain and consequently is a Sobolev extension domain. The main result then says that although the boundary is not Lipschitz (so that the classical Friedrichs lemma does not apply), the weak and strong maximal extensions of the Cauchy-Riemann operator nevertheless agree. The authors go on to use these results to study the Dolbeault cohomology groups with Sobolev coefficients on the complement of the Hartogs triangle. The paper concludes with an interesting discussion of several open problems.
