In a first step, the author develops a special representation formula in form of intersections for anisotropic weighted vector-valued Bessel potential spaces with mixed norms. A similar formula is derived for Triebel-Lizorkin spaces of this type. Then, in a second step, these formulas are used for deriving sufficient conditions for the characteristic function of the half space to be a pointwise multiplier for those spaces. This extends earlier work of Shamir, Strichartz, Triebel, Franke, Meyries, Veraar and Amann.
