A topology \(\tau\) on a set \(X\) is called \textit{consonant} if the Scott topology of the lattice \(\tau\) is compactly generated, or, equivalently, if the upper Kuratowski topology on the closed subsets of \(X\) is the same as the co-compact topology. It is known that Čech-complete spaces are consonant, and that metrizable consonant spaces are hereditarily Baire. Thus completeness axioms feature naturally in the theory of consonant spaces. This paper examines the question of how consonant spaces sit inside of some larger space, especially when the larger space is complete in some sense. More specifically, the authors determine conditions guaranteeing that a completely regular space has consonant complement in a Čech-complete space. These conditions are generalizations of the Menger property, and are defined using infinite topological games.
