The classification of topological spaces based on the homotopy type solved problems concerning spaces with nice local properties, but it is inefficient for locally bad spaces. To overcome homotopy theory limitations shape and coarse shape theory were introduced. In this paper, the authors define a new pointed finite coarse shape invariant, the \(k\)-finite coarse shape group of a pointed topological space, and compare it to the corresponding shape and coarse shape group. They define a functor from the pointed finite coarse shape category to the category of all groups. They also present calculations for interesting examples (dyadic solenoid and an arbitrary stable pointed space) of the finite coarse shape groups.
