Let \(X\) be a locally compact Hausdorff space, \((Y,d)\) a metric space, and let \(K(Y)\) denote the space of non-empty compact subsets of \(Y\) endowed with the Hausdorff metric topology. Let us denote the space of all minimal upper semi-continuous mappings of \(X\) to \(K(Y)\) endowed with the topology of uniform convergence on compact sets by \(MU(X,K(Y))\). The main result of the present paper says that \(\mathcal E\subset MU(X,K(Y))\) is compact if and only if \(\mathcal E\) is closed, \(\{E(x):E\in\mathcal E\}\) are relatively compact for \(x\in X\), and \(\mathcal E\) is ``densely equicontinuous''. Here densely equicontinuous is a generalization of equicontinuity of subsets of \(C(X,Y)\) appropriate to deal with minimal upper semi-continuous mappings.
