The authors study the following double phase Dirichlet problem \[ \begin{cases} -\Delta_p^q u(z)-\Delta_q u(z)=f(z,u(z)) &\text{in }\Omega,\\ u=0 &\text{on }\partial \Omega, \end{cases} \] where \(1<q<p<N\), \(\Omega\subseteq \mathbb{R}^N\) is a bounded domain with \(C^2\)-boundary \(\partial \Omega\), \(0\leq a(\cdot)\in L^\infty(\Omega)\setminus\{0\}\), \(\Delta_p^a\) is the weighted \(p\)-Laplacian given by \[ \Delta_p^a u=\operatorname{div}\left(a(z)|D u|^{p-2}Du\right) \] and the reaction term \(f\colon\Omega \times\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\) satisfies suitable assumptions near the origin and at infinity. Based on new results of the corresponding weighted eigenvalue problem, the authors prove multiplicity results in the coercive and noncoercive case.
