The paper is devoted to the study of the transfer of properties in pullback constructions in the context of commutative (non-Noetherian) rings with unity. Let us present the situation. We start with a ring surjection \(\eta_1 : T\to B\) and a ring injection \(\iota_1: A\to B\). We denote by \(R\) the pullback of these maps. We denote by \(\eta_2 : R \to A\) and \(\iota_2 : R\to T\) the canonical morphisms. Then we have that \(C:=\mathrm{Ker}(\eta_2)=\mathrm{Ker}(\eta_1)\). Moreover \(C\) is the largest common ideal of \(R\) and \(T\) and it is called the conductor of \(T\) into \(R\). First the authors show that \(C\) is never finitely generated (except in trivial cases) and that \(A\to B\) is never flat even when \(R\to T\) is flat. Due to previous works this justifies to study the case when \(C\) contains a regular element and that \(R\to T\) is flat. This is what the authors do: in this case they study the transfer of coherent-like properties from \(A\) to \(R\) or \(R\) to \(T\).
