An interesting and open conjecture states that each projective variety carries a Ulrich bundle. In this paper, the author proves the truthfulness of such conjecture for a particular family of rational surfaces. To be specific, he considers a polarized smooth rational surface of degree \((S,H)\) with an anticanonical pencil \(h^0(S,\omega^\lor)\geq 2\) and a general curve \(C\in |\omega_S(3)|\). Assuming furthermore that \(C\) has genus \(g\geq 4\), Clifford dimension 1 and its Clifford index can be computed as the restriction of \(\omega_S(1)\) on \(C\), he shows the existence of a family of stable rank 2 Ulrich bundles \(E\) on the surface, with \(\det(E)=\omega_S(3)\) and dimension \((H^2-K_S^2+5)\). The proof relies in demonstrating that a certain class of Lazarsfeld-Mukai bundles satisfies the Ulrich conditions. As a consequence, using the Ulrich bundles on \(S\), it is possible to recover the Chow form of the rational surface. Finally, the author shows that particular surfaces, obtained as blow-ups, also carry a rank 2 Ulrich bundle.
