The author presents a survey about the Hardy spaces associated with various semigroups of operators. The author first recalls the classical results of the real Hardy spaces on \({\mathbb R}^n\) and also on spaces of homogeneous type. Then the author states the results about the atomic characterization and the Riesz transform characterization of Hardy spaces associated with the Schrödinger operator on \({\mathbb R}^n\), the dual property between the Hardy space and the BMO space associated with the Schrödinger operator on \({\mathbb R}^n\), the nontangential area integral characterization and the maximal function characterization of the Hardy space associated to the operator satisfying the Davies-Gaffney estimate on spaces of homogeneous type and the dual property between the Hardy space and the BMO space associated to the operator satisfying the Davies-Gaffney estimate on spaces of homogeneous type. Finally, the author states some characterizations of the Hardy space associated to the Bessel operator and the Laguerre operator on \((0,\infty)\).
