The theory of operator ideals has been proved to be a strong tool for the investigation and classification of linear operators between Banach spaces. For a fixed Banach operator ideal \(\mathcal{A}\), the notion of relatively \(\mathcal{A}\)-compact sets was introduced by \textit{B. Carl} and \textit{I. Stephani} [Math. Nachr. 119, 77--95 (1984; Zbl 0575.47015)]. In the present paper, the author uses this notion to study the \( \mathcal{A}\)-compact polynomials and \(\mathcal{A}\)-compact holomorphic mappings. Some known properties of \(\mathcal{A}\)-compact operators are extended to \(\mathcal{A}\)-compact polynomials. Also, we find some examples showing that the characterization of \(\mathcal{A}\)-compact holomorphic mappings is sharp.
