The prequantum line bundle \(L\) over the \(2n\)-dimensional symplectic manifold \((P,\omega)\) is considered in the framework of geometric quantization [\textit{J. Śniatycki}, Geometric quantization and quantum mechanics. New York, etc.: Springer-Verlag (1980; Zbl 0429.58007)]. A completely integrable Hamiltonian system is chosen determined by \(n\)-independent constants of motion \(\mathcal{F}=(f_1,\dots,f_n)\) that fixes a singular real polarization \(F=D\otimes \mathbb{C}\) and the space \(\mathcal{S}^{\infty}_L\) of sections of the prequantum line bundle \(L\) over \(P\) that are covariantly constant along \(F\). The quantization map \(\mathbf{Q}_f\) relative to the polarization \(F\) is defined and satisfies the Dirac commutation relations \([\mathbf{Q}_{f_1}, \mathbf{Q}_{f_2}]=-i \hbar \mathbf{Q}_{\{f_1,f_2\}}\), \(f_1, f_2\in C^{\infty}_F(P)\). Let \(T\) denote an integral manifold of \(D\). There exists a neighborhood \(W\) of \(T\) in \(P\) such that \(\omega|_{W}= \text{d} \theta_W\). The Bohr-Sommerfeld quantization condition is expressed as \(\int_{\Gamma_i}\theta = m_i h\), \(m_i\in\mathbb{Z}\), \(i=1,\dots,n\), where \(\Gamma_i\) are the generators of the fundamental group of the \(n\)-torus \(T\). Let \(S\) be the collection of all tori satisfying the Bohr-Sommerfeld conditions. It is supposed that there exist action-angle variables \((A_i,\varphi_i)\) on a open \(U\subset P\) such that globally on \(U\) \(\theta=\sum_{i=1}^nA_i\text{d}\varphi_i\). The representation space \(\mathfrak{H}\) of the geometric quantization of the integrable system consists of distribution sections of \(L\) with support on the Bohr-Sommerfeld set \(S\). The Bohr-Sommerfeld conditions impose the quantization rules \(A_i=m_i\hbar\), \(\hbar=\frac{h}{2\pi}\), which determine an \(n\)-torus \(T_{\mathbf{m}}\) in \(S_U\). Let \({\mathbf{e_m}}\) be an orthonormal basis of \(\mathfrak{H}_U\) consisting of eigenvectors of the operators \((Q_{A_1},\dots, Q_{A_n}) \) corresponding to the eigenvalues \((m_1\hbar,\dots,m_n\hbar )\). The shift (ladder) operators \(\mathbf{a}_i\), \((\mathbf{a}_i^{\dagger})\) are similar to Segal-Bargmann-Fock annihilation (creation, respectively) operators. The operators \(\mathbf{a}_i\) are interpreted as quantum operators corresponding to \(f_i\). Finally, the identification \(\mathbf{a}_k=\mathbf{Q}_{e^{i\varphi_k}}\), \(\mathbf{a}^{\dagger}_k=\mathbf{Q}_{e^{-i\varphi_k}}\) is made. The proposed scheme is applied to the one-dimensional harmonic oscillator and to the quantization of the coadjoint orbits of \(\mathrm{SO}(3)\) orbits. In conclusion, the authors have extended the Bohr-Sommerfeld rules to a full quantum theory which includes the Heisenberg matrix theory, using the framework of geometric quantization.
