A class of type II factors, consisting of operators acting on the Bergman space, and arising from holomorphic coverings of bounded domains in the complex plane, has been constructed by \textit{K.-Y. Guo} and \textit{H.-S. Huang} [J. Funct. Anal. 260, No. 4, 1219--1255 (2011; Zbl 1216.46054)]. In the paper under review, the author studies new techniques to generalize the results mentioned above to the case of weighted Bergman spaces.
