Motivated by a quantitative version of the Bishop-Phelps theorem given by \textit{B. Bollobás} [Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 2, 181--182 (1970; Zbl 0217.45104)], \textit{M. D. Acosta} et al. [J. Funct. Anal. 254, No. 11, 2780--2799 (2008; Zbl 1152.46006)] defined the so-called Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property as a quantitative way in which the set of norm attaining operators can be dense in the space of all operators between two Banach spaces. Namely, a pair of Banach spaces \((X,Y)\) has the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property if, for every \(\varepsilon>0\), there exists \(\eta>0\) such that, whenever \(T\in L(X,Y)\) with \(\|T\|=1\) and \(x\in X\) with \(\|x\|=1\) satisfy \(\|Tx\|> 1 - \eta\), there exist \(y\in X\) with \(\|y\|=1\), \(S\in L(X,Y)\) with \(\|S\|=1\) such that \[ \|S y\|=1,\qquad \|x-y\|<\varepsilon,\qquad \|T-S\|<\varepsilon. \] This property has been extensively studied in the last years. In the paper under review, a problem from [Zbl 1152.46006] is solved. Namely, it is shown that for every uniformly convex space \(Y\), the pair \((c_0,Y)\) has the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property. As a corollary, it is shown that the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás theorem holds for bilinear forms on \(c_0 \times Y\) whenever \(Y\) is a uniformly convex and uniformly smooth space, in particular, for bilinear forms on \(c_0 \times \ell_p\) for \(1<p<\infty\) (see [\textit{M. D. Acosta} et al., Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 365, No. 11, 5911--5932 (2013; Zbl 1296.46007)] for the definition of the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás theorem for multilinear forms).
