The paper focuses on generalized positive functions, defined as scalar rational functions with non-negative real part on the imaginary axis, a generalization of the so-called positive functions which have non-negative real part on the right half plane. The authors are interested in solving Nevanlinna-Pick interpolation problems on this function class. They describe various structural properties (geometric and analytic), exploiting the fact that the set of generalized positive functions is a convex invertible cone, i.e., a set closed under positive scaling, summation and inversion. They also extend the discussion to generalized bounded functions, which map analytically the imaginary axis to the closed unit disk.
